It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 2ndAsia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE2012), which is to be held from November 26th through 29th, 2012 in Jeju Island, Korea. As you are aware of Korea has respectively held North-East Asia Forum on Renewable Energy in 2003, Int'l Conference & Exhibition on Renewable Energy(RE2008) in 2008, Int'l Symposium on Low Carbon Technology(ISLCT2010) in 2010, and 1st Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE2011) last year. Based on these former experiences, AFORE2012 is held this year to strengthen the cooperative network among countries in Asia-Pacific region; to facilitate exchanges of information and personnel; to play the role in the advancement of renewable energy technology and expansion of its deployment, contributing to reliable energy supply, realization of low-carbon society and sustainable economic growth, and betterment of human life. Recently Korean Government announced the National Agenda aiming at the 'Low Carbon & Green Growth'. According to the Agenda, Korea will spend about $100 billion to increase the renewable energy contribution up to 11% by 2030. Korea is rapidly becoming the attractive market as well as the advanced technology source. The oil price hike and the environmental disaster such as Fukushima nuclear power plant clearly send us the message to work hard for the renewable energy. However, developing the renewable energy technology and creating the market require the harmonized effort among nations toward the sustainable world. I strongly believe that AFORE2012 will make the optimum environment for the exciting communication of the new ideas and knowledge. Your participation will make AFORE2012 more fruitful and special.
